This diagram shows the typical workflow of an IT project.  The corporate goals, standards, contract procedures, budget levels and other business information support a balanced process for selection of new projects. Once a project is approved, the Program Manager,  Project Sponsors and one or more Project Managers oversee the development projects through delivery and deployment.  If a project is outsourced, a team of two project managers may be required; one from the organization and one from the vendor.

On the diagram, Project Milestones are shown as the review and approval steps taken by the Program Manager and Sponsors, based on reporting from the Project Managers, Project Team, and QA Team. 

 

Process boxes that overlap two or more organization lanes indicate that the activity is a joint responsibility of those groups.
